AWARENESS – a survey from Network Solutions has claimed that while small businesses are AWARE of mobile marketing, they don’t really use it. The disparity is highlighted in a series of graphics, with location-based searches being one of the most used methods:

ANDROID vs. iPHONE – the latest stat release from mobile advertiser InMobi has shown that while the launch of iPhone on Verizon in the USA has given the Apple phone a huge boost, Android OS is still ahead of it in terms of total market share:

GOOGLE TRAVEL – Google’s Travel division wants to create a single destination where they can research and plan their trips. Rob Torres, Head of Travel, says that advertisers need to take more advantage of the built-in functions of mobile advertising, including actual phone calls:

SMAATO – mobile advertising network Smaato has released new versions of the it’s SDK and Publisher Dashboard App for Android developers. The releases are designed to make the Smaato network compatible with the latest Android releases for Tablet computers and Android 3.1:

MMA REPORT – the Mobile Marketing Association’s Asia Pacific body held its third MMA Forum in Singapore earlier this month. A report from the Forum presents a few of the major learnings from it: mobile marketing needs collaboration; it intersects with traditional and digital marketing; consumers need to be treated personally; and more:

GOOGLE RESEARCH: Google has announced a team-up with vast brand marketing agency Digitas, to perform mobile marketing research and deliver “insights” into the market. By combining their respective data collected from search and marketing, they hope to drive use of mobile and mobile-optimised websites:
